Combined neuroprotection is currently a global trend in neurological practice. In this article, the author proposes to focus on neuroprotective drugs that affect the fundamental, leading mechanisms in the development of cerebrovascular pathology and that are a clear example of the possibility of successful use of an effective combination of these drugs in the treatment of a particular disease in a particular patient. The best option for choosing instruments of combined neuroprotection is citicoline and ethyl-methyl-hydroxypyridine succinate. In addition to complementary mechanisms of action, this combination of drugs is characterized by synergism in the development of therapeutic effects, i.e. not just summation, but mutual strengthening of the action of each of the components of the combination.
