Ascites referred as accumulation of serous fluid in peritoneal cavity, has been attributed to chronic hepatic failure, congestive heart failure, nephritic syndrome, malnutrition, ancylostomiasis and protein losing enteropathy in canine (Pradhan et al., 2008). Multiple organ disorders, hypoproteinaemia (Dabas et al., 2011), and right side heart failure (Ettinger and Feldman, 2005) are the common causes associated with ascites in dogs. Cholecystitis is a disease of the gall bladder characterized by infections, idiopathic inflammation or urolith obstruction, which is commonly caused by bacteria ascending from the intestine via the common bile duct or by haematogenous routes (Karlapudi and Devarakonda 2014a).
