In this work, the dependences of the intensity of the IR spectra of resins and asphaltenes on the time of irradiation during their photolysis under the action of radiation from a mercury lamp are studied. It was found that an increase in the irradiation time leads to a decrease in the intensity of absorption bands corresponding to normal paraffin. The observed pattern is explained on the basis of the transfer of excitation energy from PAH molecules to alkane molecules. Based on the values of the extinction coefficient and the relative concentration of PAHs in crude oil, the fractions of absorption of UV light energy by molecules of individual PAH components were calculated.
