The influence of UV irradiation on the formation of Ag molecular clusters in aqueous solutions containing metals (Zn,Mg,Ag) nitrates and polyvinylpyrrolidone has been studied. Optical and luminescence spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy were used in this study. It was found that UV irradiation significantly accelerates Ag ions reduction and Ag molecular clusters and nanoparticle formation.
