A millimeter wave moisture metering technology is proposed to implement a background characteristics method in plant breeding that requires selecting plants with medium or low humidity. This technology allows non-destructive, short- and long-term in vivo measurements of moisture. Preliminary measurements of the moisture of green onion showed that the error in measuring moisture does not exceed 1%.
