It is developed a physicomathematical model of the spatial-temporal evolution of an ice layer growing upon colliding with a solid surface of individual droplets sliding along the surface and solidifying on it, that leads to a two-dimensional roughness (ice hillocks). By the example of a circular cylinder in cross-flow, illustrations of the calculation results for a set of governing parameters typical for the ground-based experiments in an aircooling tunnel are given.
