It was studied the effects of melatonin administration (2,5 mg/kg b. w. intramuscularly for 10 days) on circadian rhythms of the metabolic syndrome main components parameters on young adult rabbits with metabolic syndrome on the background of hypopinealism induced by long (for 5 months) day and night lighting. It was established that chronic treatment with this indolamine induced restoration of circadian rhythms of insulin and glucose levels in serum, decrease of insulin resistance manifestations, reduce abdominal-visceral fat weight, lowering the concentration and recovery leptin circadian rhythms in the serum. It was also revealed, that melatonin administration demonstrate antihypertensive effect, but don’t restore systolic blood pressure circadian rhythm in studied rabbits.
