The Catholic Church carries out the mission of educating, among others, by schools and uni- versities. The coronavirus outbreak in 2020 disrupted the normal functioning of many institutions. The study presents Polish law guidelines concerning school and university education, especially in the context of the transition to online teaching due to sanitary restrictions. Subsequently, the study presents selected legal decisions and indications of the Catholic Church in Poland in an epidemic situation. Through the undertaken activities, the Church has shown its adaptive capacity as regards the pandemic. Internet communication tools were used in remote school and academic teaching.
