This paper analyses the relationship between the factors of the organizational segments and their product evolution procedure (PEP). The investigation is carried out in a functionally structured company in which some improvements activities were executed. People from different departments such as engineering, manufacturing and marketing were interviewed. It was found that the perception of improvement is influenced by the respondent's department of origin. The positions held by these individuals in product evolution can better describe his/her own perception about process improvement.
