The article discusses the stages of formation of legislation regulating land relations in Russia. The article discusses the importance of land as a source of wealth, as well as the positive and negative features of land reforms at different historical stages of development. Modern land legislation is analyzed. Shortcomings of state land management are noted and some solutions are suggested.
