This research trying to reinterpret and redefine the concept of nationalism by using the Matrix Theory method approach. Given the changing patterns of society, efforts to reinterpret the meaning of nationalism are important to maintain collective understanding of one of the main elements of national unity. The concept of nationalism may be close to people's lives in general, but confusion and differences of opinion often arise when describing it in the public. The choice of the Matrix Theory method, which is one of the qualitative research models, is because there have been many figures who have defined nationalism from various perspectives. In addition, this method was chosen because it is useful for streamlining diverse, multi-meaning, and abstract theories or definitions; to avoid defining exhibitions or parades that are not particularly relevant. The results of this research are in the form of interpretations or interpretations of the concept of nationalism that are more in line with current developments.
