This chapter presents a review of the literature published in 2017 on topics relating to wastewater collection systems. It presents noteworthy advances in research and industry experiences selected from major literature sources. This review is divided into the following sections: sewer system planning; asset management/ condition assessment/ sewer rehabilitation; pump stations/ force mains/ system design; operations/ maintenance/ optimization/ intelligent sewer platforms; tunnel systems; and regulatory issues/ integrated planning.
