We live a new social paradigm named network society, where information circulates intensely through networks mediated by technology. The lifestyles made possible by this new social organization also determine access to knowledge and the reconfiguration of relational processes, which brings us to great challenges, but also opportunities to learn and better evolve responding to our personal or professional needs. Thus, it empowers us in access to knowledge and integrates us into an online participatory culture. In this context, it is essential to consider new paths for learning, diferente and innovatives that respond to the needs of individuals along their lives. We assume, then, the purpose of this essay to reflect on Open Educational Resources and Open Education in the context of new lifestyles, that is, in today's network society, exploring how new needs to learn intersect the social dynamics made possible by online life.
