This article intends, based on some basic phenomena of the Brazilian and Portuguese literary canons, on how the emerging Afroportuguese written production is inserted in the productive and cultural system of Portuguese Language Literatures. If such a diction somehow results from the long silences imposed by the colonial system, after all what ties link it to the perspectives of the literary tradition that is always so dear?
