Fr. Diogo do Rosário was the author of the first legendary printed after the Council of Trent (Historia das vidas e feitos heroicos, e obras insignes dos Sanctos, Braga, António de Mariz, 1567). After his death, in 1580, the work will continue to spread, having its third edition and first posthumous in 1585: Historia das vidas e feitos heroicos, e obras insignes dos Sanctos (...) Agora nesta ultima impressam emendado cõ muita diligencia e acrecentado de algũas vidas de sanctos, Lisbon, António Ribeiro. Following previous works in which I analyzed the 1567 edition, in this article I analyze the first stage of the evolution of the legendary, what changes were made to the corpus and the criteria used in the rewriting of the texts.
