This article analyzes selected aspects of the construct of sexoholism as a manifestation of behavioral addiction on the basis of an interdisciplinary approach. It emphasizes the role of sensuality and selectivity of a healthy person in the sexual life. The emphasis is put on defining problems of sexoholism and the identification of its specific, characteristic features that distinguish it from other similar concept. Historical and diagnostic aspects of the study of the construct of erotomania are also described. The article analyzes various triggers that may affect the onset of sexual addiction: somatic, mental, social, situational.
