This article summarizes the experience of a ten-year period of implementation and use of intraoperative transesophageal echocardiography in Russia's cardiac anesthesiology. The possibilities of this method as part of hemodynamic monitoring for various types of cardiac surgery are shown. The advantages of prognostic significance of echocardiographic parameters are demonstrated and proven in comparison with the standard parameters. Nevertheless, it is noted that ultrasound monitoring has not gained proper acceptance in domestic practice that requires attention of clinicians and medical administrators.
