One of the key aspects that reveals the essence of the uneven distribution of social benefitsin economically developed countries is the dynamics of spatial inequality that has beencharacteristic of the US healthcare sector for many decades. The results of an empiricalstudy of this inequality as a dynamic process with the properties of historicism, carried out byde co mp osi t io nof the Theil index according to the intragroup and intergroup characteristics ofthe corresponding groups of indicators, indicate an increase in the polarization of territoriesin terms of the provision of the population with medical benefits. Given the organizationaland economic inconsistency in the health care of American citizens and the predominanceoft he spontaneous and commercial nature of free pricing in the relevant markets ofA merican medical goods and services, the center-peripheral spatial structure of inequalityin the development of US health care, traditional for capitalist reproduction, is confirmed. Th eobjective nature of the long-term formation of such a structure is complemented by thes u bjecti v ef a ctoro fst at er e gio na lr e g u l at io no fh e a lt hc a r eint h es u bregio na landt r an sr e gio na lsections, through the implementation of differently directed typologically relevant policies –fro m traditional and proactive to selective. It is shown that not only the economic situation,b utalso the socio-political and ideological expediency are the subjects that determine thetools for activating, polarizing, stimulating or restraining the development of healthcare inspecificareas of the United States.
