The article is devoted to the theoretical foundations of the category of “responsibility” of philosophy and ethics, as well as its interpretation in psychology and jurisprudence. The author analyzes the category of “responsibility” in the context of etymology (origin) of this term in Ukrainian, Russian, English, French and German languages, while emphasizing their semantic similarity/identity.
