An article devoted to the study of the main points of the use of manipulations of mass consciousness for the purpose of information and psychological impact in information wars. Manipulation is viewed as a latent influence, in which the addressee of the influence, against his own will, performs the actions necessary for the manipulator. One of the tasks of the information war is to manipulate public opinion. The object of information-psychological influence is human consciousness, therefore information-psychological weapons are very dangerous, since they affect the functioning and development of society, the psyche and behavior of the population.
