A comparative analysis of the legal status of indigenous peoples, tribes and castes of Brazil, India and Canada was carried out on the basis of a study of the Constitutions and Constitutional Acts, Conventions for the Protection of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, the activities of National Commissions for the protection of these categories. Conclusions are made about the presence of similarities and differences in the formation of the constitutional status of the studied ethnic groups and the attitude of the colonialists towards them.
