Summary Charcot‐Marie‐Tooth is the commonest inherited peripheral neuropathy but the reported use of perineural infusions is limited. Use of a nerve stimulator has been questioned in the context of preexisting motor neuropathy. We describe the use of ultrasound to enable safe placement of a distal sciatic perineural catheter for postoperative pain control following ankle arthroplasty.
