Genetic development of five weakly‐developed soils derived from dolomitic materials on five different glaciofluvial landforms was measured using indices. A calcite‐leaching index was calculated from the maximum calcite percentage below the solum/calcite percentage in soil horizons, and a dolomite‐weathering index to measure the degree of dolomite weathering was calculated from the dolomite content at the bottom of the solum/dolomite content in soil horizons. Both indices could be successfully used to measure genetic development of the five soils.
