A system was developed at the University of Hawaii for studying effects of compaction on hydraulic conductivity of soil mixtures. A major advantage of this system was the ability of the compacting unit to apply a specific amount of pressure for any desired length of time. The permeameter used also decreased possible error in hydraulic conductivity measurements.
