Improvements of the Purdue‐Wisconsin infiltrometer are described. A winch was added to the tower to facilitate assembly and the windshield was redesigned. Water distribution was improved by changes in the revolving shutter and the surplus water collection trough. The nozzle mounting was simplified, and water level in the vacuum runoff tank was transmitted to an external recorder. Good uniformity was obtained over a wide range of application rates.
