Inhibition of nitrification of fall‐applied ammonium sulfate with “N‐Serve” 3 prevented movement of applied nitrogen below the 30.5‐cm depth. Yield of wheat ( Triticum aestivum L., Cultivar Gaines) fertilized with ammonium sulfate and N‐Serve was increased 37 to 42% compared to no increase in yield with the nitrate form.
