A rapid method for measuring hydraulic conductivities of materials in the range 10 ‐6 to 10 ‐10 cm/sec is described. By using a pressure transducer as part of a decreasing head permeameter, the time constant for measurement is reduced. Only small volume transfers of water are required. An example is discussed to illustrate the method.
