A POSITIVE ACTION PUMP FOR SAMPLING SMALL BORE WELLS IN STUDYING WATER QUALITY CHANGES in ground Water aquifers it is not always possible to obtain samples from pumping wells in the area of interest, and observation wells must be installed. The installation of observation wells to any great depths is most practical if their diameters are < 2 inches. To properly sample such small diameter wells it is important to remove a significant volume of water from the well before the actual sample is taken.
