The basi c piece of equipment for this procedur e is a round plastic scal p massage r obtainabl e at drug stores and other stores which handl e toiletries. The massage r has a diameter of approximatel y 2.5 inches with teeth approximatel y 0.5 inch in length. It is essential , however , to choose one which has the teeth terminating in one plane as the tips of all teeth must touch the flat surface of the solidified medium. As some of these massager s have 90 to 100 or more teeth, it is possibl e to obtain re sults, by inoculating 510 plates, which are easil y con verted into percentages .
