The results of a study, the objectives of which were to determine the approximate minimum level of maintained nitrate necessary to assure good growth in citrus, and to secure information as to the relative tolerance of this plant for high nitrate levels, are presented in this paper. In connection with this work incidental information concerning the general question of nutrient balance was obtained. A portion of these latter results are also presented and briefly discussed.
