wheats tested in Aberdeen, only Fieldwin (ash content: 3.7 g kg-) had a lower ash content than Idaho 266 (ash content: 3.8 g kg-). Flour protein content of Idaho 266 has been lower than Penawawa and similar to Fieldwin and Owens at Aberdeen in 4 yr of trials. Idaho 266 and Owens had similar grain protein percentages in 5 yr of testing at Ontario, OR. In Western Regional testing, Idaho 266 has been similar to Penawawa for cookie quality and inferior to Penawawa for sponge cake quality. Testing at Aberdeen indicates that Idaho 266 has cookie quality similar to Fieldwin and superior to Penawawa. Seed of Idaho 266 will be maintained by the Idaho Agricultural Experiment Station. Small quantities of seed may be obtained by writing to the corresponding author.
