The augmented design usually is useful for testing many genotypes in early generations when valid statistical analyses are needed with seed supplies too limited to permit replication. Practical use of this design necessitates computer data analysis. Researchers need an easy way to analyze augmented design data with minimal hand computations, and with the fewest possible computer operation steps. This paper presents a SAS program useful for analyzing augmented randomized complete‐block design (ARCBD) data. An actual augmented experiment is used to show construction of the design and analysis of the data. Since SAS can handle large data sets, this program can be used to obtain useful information on large numbers of genotypes where numbers of seeds are insufficient for adequate replication.
