Seventy-nine day-neutral (DN) cotton, Gossypium hirsutum L., germplasm lines (Reg. no. GP-511 to GP-589, PI 561949 to PI 562027) were released by USDA-ARS and the Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station in the time period 1988 to 1992. The 79 lines were derived from photoperiodic primitive race accessions. The germplasm release designation, registration number, and PI number of each line are given in Table 1. The last four digits of the release designation correspond to the Texas (T-) accession number (3). Descriptor data for many of the primitive (T-) accessions were reported previously (3) and are accessible through the USDA's Germplasm Resources Information Network (GRIN) database.
