We investigated the inheritance of resistance to culture 70‐1 (race 1) of Pucciniu recondita Rob. ex Desm f. sp. tritici in three durum wheats ( Triticum durum Desf.). The cultivar ‘Ramsey’ and selections D561 and D6733 were each crossed reciprocally with susceptible selection D6618. Resistance was recessive in all three crosses, and segregation ratios indicated that two recessive genes conditioned resistance in Ramsey. One recessive gene conditioned resistance in D561 and in D6733.
