A rare yellow berry plant of Atropa belladonna L. was self‐ and sib‐pollinated in a breeding program to improve this important medicinal plant. The normal color is purple‐black. Segregation studies indicated that the yellow berry color was inherited from a single recessive gene. Data are presented from F 1 , F 2 , and F 3 generations.
