A gene for resistance to Puccinia recondita in Triticum aestivum derived from Agropyron elongatum is designated as Lrl9 . This gene occurred on chromosome 7D in an irradiated translocation line, T4, and is present in the wheat line ‘Agatha’ (C. I. 14048). Another gene for resistance, on chromosome 7A in ‘Thew’ (W203) is designated Lr20 .
