Seed set in all possible single crosses among seven clones of Bromus inermis was evaluated following two methods of hybridization, mutual pollination (MP) and the bottle technique (BT). The methods were used without emasculation under field conditions. The parent clones used were relatively self‐sterile. The study indicated that seed set following both methods was approximately similar in both years, although differences for certain specific crosses were observed.
