Stem cuttings are a satisfactory method for propagating castor genetic stocks ( Ricinus communis L.). Prolific root systems developed on cuttings treated with a commercial root‐promoting preparation and set in either sand or perlite. Cuttings with one or two nodes below the media surface and three or four nodes above the surface rooted best.
