Neither uridine monophosphate nor air pressure (3.67 kg/cm 2 for 5, 10, 15 days) treatments induced the development of apical meristems in three nonvernalized winter wheat cultivars ( Triticum aestivum L.). Thus, these treatments cannot be used in place of cold treatments to satisfy the vernalization requirements of winter wheat.
