Progenies of four Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench crosses were studied to determine the inheritance of the hermaphrodite pedicelled spikelet character. The character was found to be controlled by a single pair of alleles, with the hermaphrodite pedicelled spikelet allele ( hps ) recessive to the non‐hermaphrodite pedicelled spikelet allele ( Hps ).
