Segregation ratios of 24 seedling lethals in Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench indicated that the characters were simply inherited. Some of the genes controlling these characters were tested for linkage with specific chromosomes by using primary trisomic plants. F 2 segregation ratios in progenies from crosses of trisomic ✕ genetic stocks showed that the gene w 18 was associated with the bottle‐brush trisome and the genes w 19 and w 20 were associated with the cone trisome. The genes controlling coleoptile color ( Rs 1 and Rs 2 ) were associated with the small‐glume and stiff‐branch trisomes, respectively.
