Several herbicides were effective in reducing stands of weeds and increasing the stand of spring‐seeded crownvetch ( Coronilla varia L.) during the year of seeding. Trifluralin, benefin, EPTC, and vernolate generally eliminated most weed competition without injuring crownvetch. Dalapon, bromoxynil, 2,4‐DB, atrazine, SD‐ 15418, terbacil, and linuron gave ineffective broadleaf or grass weed control or injured crownvetch.
