‘Hegari,’ a variety of Sorghum vulgare , Pers., has been identified for maturity as being Ma 1 Ma 2 Ma 3 ma 4 . A fourth maturity locus has, therefore, been recognized in sorghum. The dominant allele at the fourth locus occurs in the ‘Milo’ varieties in which the first three maturity gene loci were found.
