SINCE the publication of "A Summary of Linkage Studies in Barley: Supplement II, 1947-1953" by Robertson, Wiebe, and Shands (62), many papers on linkage and genetic studies in barley have been published. At intervals three supplementary reports by Robertson (57, 58, 59) have been reported in mimeographed form or in the Barley Newsletters. In the present paper an attempt will be made to bring the linkage data up to date. Since a recent summary of translocation studies in barley has been reported by Ramage, Burnham, and Hagberg (50), no reference to translocation linkages will be made. In presenting data, the chromosomes will be numbered in accordance with the procedure used by Ramage, Burnham, and Hagberg (50), which procedure was recommended by the Fourth American Barley Research Workers Conference held at Fargo, North Dakota, in February of I960. Key marker genes for the chromosomes follow: Nn for 1, Vv for 2, Uz uz for 3, Kk for 4, Bb for 5, Oo for 6, and Rr for 7.
