The results of this work showed that coating phosphate fertilizers with humic acids did not affect P mobility or P availability compared with traditional P fertilizers (e.g., triple superphosphate, MAP, or DAP). In addition, the researchers observed that coating fertilizers with elemental sulfur also had no effect on mobility or availability compared with traditional P fertilizers. In summary, traditional fertilizers still appear to be the best P source for plants.
