—Tanjila Jesmin “[Photography] serves as a visual aid to help people, who may not be familiar with something, obtain a greater comprehensive understanding about it. It can be used to highlight a very important finding within a study. I plan to use photography to measure canopy cover at different stages of growth for maize and soybean. In addition, I plan to photograph grain yield for each of the treatment groups, not only to complement the data, but also to show the visual differences present. During my master’s thesis research, I used photography to document these two measurements within my study. When presenting my research at seminars for our lab group and department, complementary photographs presented along with the data helped the audience to gain a better understanding of why certain results were obtained.”
