Citizen scientists communicating the importance of Earth science to policy makers AGI, in collaboration with many other geoscience societies, invites geoscientists and geoengineers to come to Washington, DC, to visit with your representatives in Congress and let them know about the importance of the geosciences. WHAT: The 6th Annual Geosciences Congressional Visits Day (GEO-CVD) — when geoscientists from around the country bring their message to Washington. The geosocieties provide a half-day workshop where you learn about the policy process and hone your message to Congress. Then spend a day meeting with members of Congress and their staff; the geosocieties arrange your meetings and accompany you around Capitol Hill. WHO: You! Please join other geoscientists to deliver a unified message about the importance and value of geoscience in society, with examples from your professional work and experiences.
