Cotton acres continue to increase and are being grown in northerly regions of the Plains that only a decade ago were considered unsuitable. With that management comes a learning curve. Because cotton production is still relatively new in parts of the Texas High Plains, Oklahoma, and Kansas, extension specialists say successful production practices in other regions may not necessarily be applicable.
