Core Ideas The objective was to document effects of winter foot traffic on an annual bluegrass putting green. Foot traffic applied at 440 rounds per day produced the greatest reduction in turf quality and color. Traffic should be limited to 220 rounds per day to prevent unacceptable turf quality and color from developing during winter months. Rounds per week can be increased in the final week of March, when annual bluegrass is able to recover from traffic.
