Removing forage clippings from borders and alleys of cultivar evaluation and management trials represents a major expense for forage research. A wagon, to be attached to a self‐propelled flail‐type forage harvester, was constructed to reduce the cost of harvesting plots. Clippings from alleys and borders are blown into the wagon and dumped into a pickup truck or larger wagon for removal from the area. This piece of equipment has contributed to a substantial savings in labor involved in harvesting forage plots.
